Who’s Who

Rev. Stuart Irvin

Having grown up in Edinburgh I moved away for studies in my early twenties – 8 years later I would find myself moving back to this fine city to take of the post of Parish Minister here at St Catherine’s Argyle in April 2016.  Each Sunday I lead the congregation in worshipping God and I preach from the Bible as we seek to deepen our understanding and love of God (why not listen to how this usually sounds by looking at our ‘Recent Sermon’s Section’?).   I love being minister here and I am excited by the many challenges and opportunities that there are for us a Church and for me as a minister.  I am committed to being involved in the community and am always happy to meet up with folks whether you have been at church all your days or have never set foot in the building.

I am married to Lynne, a secondary school teacher, and we have two young boys.  I love to spend time with family and friends and when I have time and the weather permits I try to seize the opportunity to get out climbing or walking.

Dr. Angus Grant

I am originally from Fife, but now live in Edinburgh. I am married to Liz (from the Emerald Isle) and we have two lovely daughters both now at university.

In my day job I am a GP. Outside of family, work and church I enjoy cycling and running (both slowly), music and films (both rarely). I used to work in Kenya as a Mission partner of the Church of Scotland in a busy rural 300 bed hospital called Chogoria Hospital. I also spent time working in China as a teacher of Medical English.
